The Hobie Cat Sails Again

According to the Hobie website there are over 100,000 of these sailboats around the world dating back to 1967.   This one is Warren's;  Wayne has one also.   Tristan and Piper went out there with their Dad....Dacia and I stayed ashore to take care of the dogs.  As always,  I used elements from Anna Aspnes for the layout!

   

A Favorite Lily

This lily is in one of the pots Joni brought from Iowa.  It seems to like Kansas heat.  That's good because it has been in the 100 degree range for several days.  The lily is doing fine so far.  I did venture out to water the pots a couple of days ago.  I have sweet potato vines to plant but I'm waiting for the heat wave to go away!

Bicycle Ride

There were 240 riders registered for this ride...don't know how many showed up.  Joni,  Warren and Tristan came to the lake and stayed overnight on the 27th...Dacia and Piper cooked dinner for all of us! The background in this layout is a picture of the historic Spring Hill Ranch, in the Tall Grass National Preserve,  not far from Strong City.  I used Anna Aspnes Template 55.

Stormy April 2012

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Kahola Lake.  We were fortunate to have missed the severe storms;  there were a few close calls!   This was made with Anna Aspnes' Color Block template.

Charles Griffith, World War II

I'm glad I could find a few of my Dad's pictures from World War Two.  Here they are.   He was a corporal in the Army Signal Corps. He lived in Wichita after he was discharged....some time in the early 1940s. 

Greenup Time

It has rained slowly and steadily all day and the lake is filling up again. I've gone back to my Canon S3 IS for pictures around home. I hope to learn more about it this time!  Once again I used elements from Anna Aspnes to put this page together.

Joni came to Kansas for a visit...bringing her camera, of course! These are her pictures and the layout was put together using an Anna Aspnes kit "Crazy Life".

Some of these pictures were taken by Joni and some are mine.  I used Anna Aspnes' LoopDaLoop Template One.  I bought that template a couple of years ago and just recently realized that I knew what to do with it in Photoshop!   Yippee!

January was wonderful!

We had unusually nice weather!  One day I captured the thermometer reading....I'm sure there were days warmer than that, too!   I took a liking to the photo pockets made by Traci Reed.  Here's my experiment with them.   It was fun...I will do some more!

Christmas with Warren and family

The weather was really nice Christmas Day.  It was Sunday so I drove to Madison and waited for them to get home from church.  Dacia's parents were there also.  We opened gifts and Dacia served a delicious casserole afterwards.    I came back home before dark....it's amazing how short the daylight hours are that time of year!  I had forgotten.   Retired people don't have to think about such things!
